All previously announced PlayStation VR2 launch games

Now that the PlayStation 5 has had some time to settle in, Sony is ready to carry its VR games over to the next-gen with it PSVR2. The headset packs advanced hardware, but it also needs a strong selection of launch titles if it’s going to make a strong impression. Luckily, it seems players will have a good range of choices that will continue to grow throughout the year.


The major system vendor for the PSVR 2 is Horizon: Call of the Mountain, but there are plenty of other games worth paying attention to as well. This includes multiplayer games like Between us and Zenith: The Last Cityas well as first person shooters like The Light Brigade. Many already popular games, such as Nobody’s heavenwill also receive upgrades.

All PSVR 2 launch titles confirmed so far

With PSVR 2 finally available for pre-order, a few more developers have confirmed their games will be available at launch. VR gamers can currently expect the following titles:

Horizon Call of the Mountain PS VR2 Release Date Window Leak

PSVR 2 is not backward compatible with PSVR. That doesn’t mean the upcoming headset is doomed to have a dry launch, however. Some titles receive upgrades that allow players to carry their games over to the next generation. This contains Nobody’s heaven which receives a free upgrade when the headset is launched. The game will use the PSVR 2’s controller to provide a more tactile, immersive experience. Likewise the realistic sword fighting game Swordsman VR will get a PSVR 2 upgrade in February when Sony’s new headset is released.

The stealth horror game Hello Neighbor will also get a VR spinoff, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, which is due out in time for the release of PSVR 2. In addition to using stealth, players must also solve puzzles to find out what their mysterious neighbor is up to. The Anthology of Dark Pictures will get a VR spin-off titled The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. It’s a rail shooter that explores different locations featured in the first four titles in the series. Zenith: The Last City is an MMORPG available in Early Access on PS VR since 2022. Existing players will be able to upgrade to PSVR 2 for free next February.

FPS fans will not be left out in the cold as they can enjoy the supernatural shooter The Light Brigade. The game features procedurally generated levels that serve as a battlefield as players struggle to restore light to the world. FPS fans can also jump in After the fall which is already available on PS VR and will be upgraded. It’s a co-op shooter where players work together to defeat hordes of monstrous zombies.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated launch titles Horizon: Call of the Mountain. The upcoming game shifts the focus away from Aloy and instead features a new character named Ryas, who is a former Shadow Carja warrior seeking redemption. The game is more than a safari journey through the machine-filled world of horizon, as players will also have access to archery. The game comes bundled with the headset for gamers who want to get in the action from day one.

The PSVR 2 ports

Sony’s headset will also get many ports from other headsets, including the Quest 2. At launch, gamers will be able to play Cities VR: Enhanced Edition, the city-builder simulation game that puts players to tinker with all the minutiae of city-planning. The colorful Cosmonic High will also be available when PSVR 2 launches. The game has players attending a high school populated by brightly colored aliens. Another port that many players are looking forward to is Between uswhich was released on current VR headsets this month.

demeooriginally released on The Quest in 2021, is a tabletop survival game that should appeal to fans of dungeons and Magic the Gathering. For sci-fi fans there is Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Enhanced Edition. Originally released on the quest, it lets players play as a droid repair technician in a battle against the First Order. Players hoping to train their brains can turn to tentacle, a physics-based puzzler where players play as a tentacled monster helping the inhabitants of an island investigate a strange energy source. With 50 puzzle and action levels, it’s sure to keep players busy in the early days of PSVR 2.

In addition to the games that will be available from day one, some titles are scheduled to be released in 2023, although they have not been given a specific date. This includes titles such as pistol whip, Crossfire: Sierra Squadand the Jurassic Park Aftermath Collection. The PSVR 2 is an impressive device that will bring some improvements over its predecessor.
