Ubisoft’s upcoming mobile action-adventure/RPG title, Assassin’s Creed codename Jade’s Gameplay may have been leaked. The game is far from being the franchise’s first foray into mobile gaming, but judging by the leaked gameplay, it’s far more ambitious than any other Assassin’s Creed mobile game.
The game appears to offer AAA-level visual fidelity and environments, and a fairly extensive set of touch controls. The gameplay snippet appears to be taken from a tutorial section of the game as it walks the player through the basic controls like parkour and combat. The gameplay fits very well with the franchise’s new RPG direction, with combat reminiscent of AC Origins and Odyssey.
Ubisoft seems serious about delivering a solid RPG experience with Codename Jade. The game is set in ancient China and allows players to create and customize their own assassin.

Assassin’s Creed Codneame Jade follows AC Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has now been repeated more than a dozen times, and the current state of the franchise looks different than it did in 2008. The games have moved away from their traditional action-adventure roots and are now a solid storyline RPG franchise. The change of direction initially met with mixed reactions, but sales figures seem to indicate that fans have taken the series’ new RPG phase quite positively.
Ubisoft has big plans for mobile, including a collaboration with Netflix for an Assassin’s Creed game. Codename Jade is set to release sometime in 2023 and will likely have a closed beta before launch. The game is one of the most anticipated mobile releases and it will be interesting to see how the publisher decides to price the game.
Typically, a large portion of the most popular games on mobile devices were free to play. However, given the size and scope of Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, it stands to reason that Ubisoft will try to find a suitable price point for their game. While it has yet to hit the $60 mark on mobile, Ubisoft will likely try to price this somewhere in the $20-$30 range.
The game will likely receive a lot of post-launch support such as DLCs, expansions, and other forms of content. However, to really attract gamers, Ubisoft needs to find a way to monetize the game without having an entry barrier like a high price point. Assassin’s Creed Codename is perhaps one of the most important titles on Ubisoft’s calendar for 2023 and will likely define the mobile publisher’s efforts for years to come.
