Gadgets Weekly: Samsung Galaxy M04, Sony home projectors and more

Tech companies like Samsung, Sony, Ambrane, Tecno and Godrej have launched a new range of smartphones, soundbars, projectors and more this week (December 12-18), among others.

DH’s Gadgets Weekly edition lists the latest personal technology products to keep you up to date with everything that’s happening in the consumer electronics world.

Samsung Galaxy M04
It features a 6.5-inch HD+ (1560×720p) LCD Infinity V display and comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and three slots (for two Nano SIMs and a microSD card). fitted.

Inside is a 12nm class MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU, Android 12-based One UI Core 4.1, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage (expandable up to 1 TB), dual camera module – 13MP + 2MP depth sensor with rear LED flash, a 5MP front camera with face unlock support and a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charger .

Galaxy M04 supports RAM Plus feature that allows users to expand RAM up to 8GB provided there is enough space. Also, Samsung has promised four years of security updates and two operating system upgrades for the device.

It is available in two colors – Sea Glass Green and Shadow Blue. It is available in two storage options – 64GB and 128GB – for Rs 8,499 and Rs 9,499 respectively.

Sony 4K SXRDTM Laser Home Projectors – VPL-XW7000ES and VPL-XW5000ES
Japanese technology’s leading 4K SXRDTM laser projectors boasted the world’s smallest native 4K SXRD 0.61-inch panel (3840 x 2160p). They promise an impressive viewing experience with high resolution and high contrast in a compact housing design.

They feature new wide dynamic range optics combined with TRILUMINOUS PRO technology to deliver a 4K HDR experience on a large screen with a brightness of up to 3,200 lm.

They’re powered by Sony’s X1 Ultimate processor for projectors, much like we see in Sony’s ultra-premium BRAVIA smart TVs. The company says the processor enables unique features like Dynamic HDR Enhancer and Object-based Super Resolution to create expanded dynamic range and extreme clarity that enhance the viewing experience.

The top-of-the-line VPL-XW7000ES is also equipped with an ACF (Advanced Crisp Focus) lens and Live Color Enhancer function to provide an enhanced viewing experience. Also, the device and packaging are manufactured using eco-friendly methods, reducing the carbon footprint.

The Sony VPL-XW7000ES costs Rs 16,00,000 and the VPL-XW5000ES costs Rs 5,50,000.

Godrej Hot and Cold AC
It is 3 star air conditioning and comes with a dual rotary inverter compressor for efficient refrigerant flow.

It uses Quick Defrost technology for a shorter defrost cycle and its 5-in-1 convertible technology offers five different cooling levels to set the desired cooling/heating needs depending on the weather, number of people in the room and individual temperature preference.

Other key features include a nano-coated anti-virus filter that eliminates 99.9 percent of virus particles from the air to provide peace of mind. It comes with 100 percent copper coils and a connecting tube for greater efficiency and durability. It also has corrosion-resistant blue fins that resist corrosion for longer. In line with Godrej’s commitment to the environment, this air conditioner uses the environmentally friendly R32 refrigerant, which has no ozone depletion and low global warming potential.

The air conditioner can cool your room in the scorching summer heat when temperatures can rise above 50 degrees Celsius, and can warm the room in cold winters even when the ambient temperature drops to minus degrees as low as -7 degrees Celsius. They feature sleek designs made from quality materials that help blend in better with parts of the home. They feature unique 360 ​​Spatial Sound Mapping and Soundfield Optimization technology that ensure the immersive cinematic surround sound is delivered to owners in the living room.

As the name suggests, the HT-A5000 is the top of the range and comes with a 450W speaker, while the HT-A3000 delivers 240W of audio output.

You simply connect to Bluetooth and WI-FI to stream content. They are best paired with Sony BRAVIA TVs for the ultimate audiovisual experience with Acoustic Center Sync.

They also support the voice activation feature for a hassle-free experience with Alexa and Google Assistant. The price of the Sony HT-A5000 (with SW3) starts from Rs 1,11,980 and the Sony HT-A3000 (with SW3) is priced at Rs 83,980 in India.

Ambrane Wise Glaze
It is touted to be India’s first smartwatch with an AMOLED display that supports 1,000 nits brightness. It features a 1.78-inch display and features premium craftsmanship and a premium design with an IP68 body and skin-friendly silicone strap.

It offers 100+ watch faces including interactive watch faces, live watch faces, customizable widgets, and personalization options.

It supports voice calls via Bluetooth, supports 100+ sports modes including regular running, walking and cycling, as well as extreme sports like gymnastics, yoga, hiking, crossfit, dancing, karate, taekwondo, horseback riding, disc games and more. The Wise Glaze can monitor blood oxygen levels (SpO2), track sleep, send reminders to sedentary and drink water, and track the menstrual cycle for women.

With a 280mAh battery, Wise Glaze offers up to seven days of battery life. It costs Rs 1,999.

HP Smart Tank printers
They promise an improved user experience with an intuitive and seamless setup, smart features and better connectivity – including self-healing Wi-Fi and mobility with Smart App and Smart Advance.

HP’s new ink tank printers can also print up to 18,000 pages in mono or up to 6,000 pages in color for uninterrupted printing with a pre-filled ink supply option.

The new printer features sustainably-manufactured components, consisting of around 45 percent post-consumer recycling. They also have EPEAT Silver and Energy Star certifications.

The HP Smart Tank 580, 520 and 210 Series are priced at Rs 18,848, Rs 15,980 and Rs 13,326 respectively.

Tecno Phantom X2 series
The new device comes in two flavors – Phantom X2 and X2 Pro. They feature a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED panel with support for a 120Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The regular X2 model has 8GB of RAM and the X2 Pro has 12GB. Both devices support virtual memory, which allows the user to expand RAM by up to 5GB provided the phone has enough storage space. Also, the new phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series.

The new devices will be launched in India in the coming months and the price will be announced during the local launch event.
