Gaming as a segment is becoming increasingly popular among young and millennials who are enthralled by many games – whether on desktop/laptop or mobile phones – that have gained a global following.

Games such as Call of Duty, Valorant, Fortnite, Need for Speed, Forza, Minecraft, Assassins Creed, BGMI, Freefire, PubG New State, Candy Crush, Ludo, Poker and Rummy, which have a large following worldwide, are equally popular in India as.

According to a recent survey by MySmartPrice, a top gadget research site, Call of Duty and Need for Speed ​​are the most popular laptop games in India, while battle royale games like BGMI and Free Fire are the hot favorites among smartphone games users are.

The report, titled MSP Gaming Consumer Report, analyzed data from nearly 14,500 respondents, although the majority of these were men – 94.4 percent – and women made up just 5.6 percent. Also, 42.7 percent of respondents were in the 19-24 age group, while 32.3 percent were in the 16-18 age group.

Interestingly, a whopping 62.4 percent of respondents said they play smartphone games multiple times a day, while 19.2 percent of respondents play only once a day. Additionally, more than 50 percent of respondents said they play smartphone games more than 90 minutes a day – with 26.7 percent of them playing more than three hours a day.

“The distribution for laptop gaming use is much more even among our respondents than for smartphone gaming. About 22.6% of respondents do not own a laptop, while 23.4% and 23.7% of respondents play laptop games some times a week and several times a day, respectively,” the report said.

About 30 percent of respondents said they played laptop games for more than 90 minutes a day.

Gaming consoles, on the other hand, do not appear to be very popular, with more than 41 percent of respondents not owning a console. Of console owners, only 15.6 percent reported playing the console multiple times a day.

In terms of smartphone brands popular with gamers, Realme and Samsung top the charts, followed by Vivo, Poco, IQOO, Apple and Oppo. Among the laptop brands, HP, Asus, Dell, Lenovo and Apple are the top 5 favorites in the same order.

When it comes to features, respondents cited high RAM size, battery life, gaming prowess, and superior graphics card as top factors when deciding on a smartphone or laptop brand.

Indian audio brand boAt has become the most popular headphone brand among gamers.
