How to change your name on Google Meet on Android, iOS and PCs – India Today

Here are the steps to change your name in Google Meet on devices like Android, iOS and PC.

From India Today Web Desk: The Covid-19 pandemic has digitally connected the whole world. Many companies connected by video calls on Google meet. Google Meet allowed its users to change background, cast screen, collaborative whiteboard and many more features. This helped update with the new features being introduced to the app’s video calls.

The Google Meet app uses the name that is present in the Google account. In this way, Google Meet will be synced with the user’s Gmail account. Therefore, a user needs to change their Gmail account name. Thus, the name is automatically reflected on Google Meet.

Steps to change your name on Google Meet:

ANDROID:

Step 1: Open your Android device and go to settings.

Step 2: Now scroll and tap on the Google icon on the settings page.

Step 3: Click the Manage button for the Google account.

Step 4: In the account, select the “Personal Information” tab.

Step 5: In the Basic Info option, click on the name field.

Step 6: Then tap the pencil icon to edit the name.

Step 7: Change the name you want to show in Google Meet and select the same option.

iOS:

Step 1: Open your Gmail account on your iOS device.

Step 2: Click on the three bars in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Choose the settings option and visit the Google account.

Step 4: Now manage your Google account.

Step 5: Select the Personal Information tab under Basic Information and select the name field.

Step 6: Click the pencil icon and edit the name option.

Step 7: The name will be changed according to the name provided by the user on Google Meet.

Step 8: Finally, select the save icon.

PC:

Step 1: Open your computer’s web browser and opt for a Google account.

Step 2: On the left side of the Google account you will find a tab with personal information.

Step 3: Now under the basic information and tap on the name field.

Step 4: Then tap the pencil icon to edit the name.

Step 5: Finally, change the name you want to show in Google Meet and specify the Save option.
