How to scan documents using your iPhone or iPad

Apple updates its pre-installed applications every year with the new iOS and iPadOS operating systems for iPhones and iPads. One of the basic applications that has received major improvements over the past few years is the Notes app. With iOS 12, the company added the feature to scan documents directly from iPhones or iPads. Before this, users had to install another application on their devices to scan files.

If you scan a document using the Notes app on your device, the scanned document automatically syncs to other devices using the same iCloud ID. To know how to scan documents on your iPhone or iPad using the Notes app, follow these steps.

If you want to save the scanned documents in an already saved Note, select it from the list. You can also create a new Note by tapping the New Note icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Inside the Note, tap on the camera icon at the bottom bar of the screen.

Tap on the Scan Documents option.

You will see a camera screen, place the document that you want to scan.

The device will automatically identify the document on the screen and you will be able to see a yellow box above it.

To see the scanned document, you can tap on the bottom left corner of the screen. You can also adjust the scanned area on the image in this window.

Once you are done, tap on the Save button and the file will be saved in the Note.

You can tap on the file and share it through various applications.
