Apple has officially released the iOS 16.2 firmware for its iPhones. Apart from all the updates that this new firmware brings, the most important and relevant update is the fact that iOS 16.2 brings 5G compatibility for iPhones in India.

5G network operators are currently offering 5G in India

Go to settings

Click General
step 3
Click Software update and install iOS 16.2

Once your iPhone has installed iOS 16.2 and restarted. Click Settings

Click Cellular Data

Click Cellular Data Options

Click Voice & Data

Here you should see three options. 5G A, 5G Auto, LTE

Click 5G Auto as 5G will be used when needed and not always.
Please note: However, while iOS 16.2 enables 5G in compatible iPhones (12,13,14, SE), you also need a 5G provider to view these settings. Our iPhone 13 updated to iOS 16.2 on Jio True5G network shows 5G in settings while our iPhone 14 Pro updated to iOS 16.2 with Vi Network doesn’t show 5G settings at all.
