Raju invested only Rs 49 in Dream 11. (Representative)
Raju Ram lives in a small village in Navada district of Bihar. He earns his living by operating DJ systems in marriages and other functions. He has invested small amounts of money in an online game over the past two years. Recently his life changed forever when he won Rs 1 crore from the same game.
Raju is a cricket enthusiast. He had invested money in the mobile game app Dream 11. By his own account he had spent a total of over Rs 85000 on Dream 11. He never thought he would ever win anything. However, fate had other plans for him. Recently he invested Rs 49 in the game. However, he was number 1 in the play list and won the prize of Rs 1 crore.
When he played, 35,000 other people tried their luck too.
Raju told Bhaskar he picked his team from Brisbane Hit and Sidney Thunder players during the Australian BPL. He came to the top of the list, defeating 35 lakh people.
Raju is of lower-middle class origin and supports his family by working as a DJ. His family is happy about the money.
Raju hasn’t gotten the feeling yet. He’s not sure what he would do with the money.
