What’s new this week on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One? What new games are coming to Xbox Game Pass? Does it look like a better week than the last ones we’ve all suffered from?
While the number of new releases is still quite small, the quality is certainly increasing as we near the end of the traditionally dry January.
It’s a bumpy week for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, with not one, not two, but three big RPGs coming to the service in a matter of days.
Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will both be released on January 19th, marking a big event for fans of the franchise. Additionally, both will be added to the Xbox Game Pass library on release day, meaning old fans can return to their favorite series for free, and those who still have hundreds of hours to sink into the world of Persona can do so without cash up front having to risk.
Another big release this week is Monster Hunter Rise for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Originally released last year exclusively for Nintendo Switch and PC, Capcom’s brand of open-world magic lands on Xbox consoles on January 20th. And just like the two Persona games above, Monster Hunter Rise will join Xbox Game Pass on day one, meaning no upfront cost.
