Nintendo is bringing back discounted game coupons for Switch Online subscribers

Don’t worry if you missed Nintendo’s cheap game coupons of 2019 – they’re back. The company is again offering Switch Online subscribers a pair of $100 coupons. If you buy two qualifying $60 games, you can save $10 each. Needless to say, this could help you land a deal on a blockbuster The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom even if it is brand new.

There are conditions that go beyond the limited catalogue. You have to use the coupons within a year, so you can’t save them forever. You also can’t hold more than eight at a time. However, you do get My Nintendo Gold Points equal to five percent of what you pay. Nintendo doesn’t say if or when the coupons will appear

There is no secret behind the strategy for the vouchers. Nintendo, of course, hopes that not only will you join Switch Online, but you’ll commit to buying multiple games where you might otherwise have just bought one. Still, it’s difficult to ignore the value. Even a set of coupons can recoup the cost of Switch Online if you were already planning to buy games. In theory, you could quickly build a collection of important titles and save a significant amount of money in the process.
