Stock of the Nintendo Switch in the US might be sparse right now, but the good news is there’s lots of games available, at discounted prices too. Best Buy has some of the best deals, including $24 off Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey, now both down to $35.99. There’s also a $9 saving on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which might not seem like much, but discounts on this game are super rare, so this is a good find.
When it comes to Nintendo Switch OLED bundles in the UK, Currys is coming up trumps right now. And one of the best is this Nintendo Switch OLED with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe & SanDisk 256 GB memory card for £369 – that’s almost £20 off the price of buying these items separately.
We’ve spent a while now scouring the internet for the best Nintendo Switch Boxing Day deals, and, we’ll be honest, offers in the US are sparse. In fact, stock in the US is sparse, let alone discounts. We have found the Nintendo Switch OLED in stock at Gamestop for the retail price ($349), which is rare at the moment because, due to high demand, everywhere seems to be selling them at inflated prices.
In the UK, Very has a number of great bundle deals on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED.
Kick start the new year with a new console and a bit of fitness with this Nintendo Switch and Just Dance bundle over at Amazon for £288.10. The page suggests a saving of over £40 for this package, however being that you can get a Switch for £259 and Just Dance for about £30 right now is you buy them separately, you’re not actually saving that much. But it does remove the hassle of searching the internet for individual items and possibly having to pay more for two deliveries.
You might have noticed that we’ve not made much mention of the Nintendo Switch Lite on the blog today. That’s really because we haven’t yet seen any discounts on the Switch’s dinky little sibling. Stock has generally been lower on the Lite than on the original Switch, so it makes sense that retailers are in no rush to offload the devices when they do get them in. There is stock available, however, should you prefer the even more portable, and more affordable Lite.
In the US, you can find the sharp-looking metallic grey Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition for $199 at the Nintendo Store and a GameStop.
In the UK, you can get the Switch Lite with Animal Crossing: New Horizons and 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online for £239.99 at Nintendo and at Very. Nintendo also has that bundle with the addition of Mario Kart 8 and a case for £308.99. The bundles aren’t advertised as special offers but they’re certainly very good prices. You can get the Switch Lite on its own for £199 from Currys.
As usual, some of the best options for getting a Nintendo Switch are in bundles, so here’s a round-up of the best bundles we’re seeing at the moment on each side of the Atlantic this Boxing Day.
In the US, the Nintendo Store has the Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and 3 Month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership for $299. And if you’re after that OLED model we mentioned below, GameStop has the console with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a screen protector and case for $429.97. You can opt for Metroid Dread instead of Mario Kart 8 for the same price.
In the UK, there are Switch bundles for every taste and interest. Making a New Year’s resolution to get in shape? Then there’s Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure Set for £309.99 at the Nintendo Store. With a genuine game involved, it certainly beats following YouTube exercise classes. You can build up that bundle with a range of options for including other games and accessories. Or if you fancy busting some dance moves as well, Amazon has the Switch with Ring Fit Adventure and Just Dance 2022 reduced by £80.99 to £338.99.
Another tempting bundle at Nintendo Store is the Nintendo Switch Mario Mega Pack for £359.99. That includes Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World and Bowser’s Fury, two Mario Kart Joy-Con Wheels, analogue stick caps and a hard pouch. Nintendo has several console plus game and pouch deals too.
As for the OLED, as we’ve seen already, Very has that with Metroid Dread for £349.99, a saving of £10, or Currys has it with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a 256GB memory card for £386.98 £369 and with Minecraft and the memory card for £369.98 £349.
Nintendo unveiled the Switch OLED version in October, and the improved console has proved to be very hard to get hold of. Considering the specs, you can understand why everyone’s keen to get their hands on it. The biggest improvement is of course the screen, with the OLED panel providing better colour accuracy, higher contrast and a cleaner looking image due to cooler white input. The screen’s also slightly larger at 7in rather than 6.2in. But the OLED version of the Switch also has a stronger kick stand, double the storage capacity and slightly better audio performance.
While you’d think the Christmas rush might have left stock even lower than before, this is actually probably the first time we’ve seen multiple options for buying the OLED Switch online on both sides of the Atlantic. In the UK, you can buy the console alone for £309.99 at Nintendo but the best deals are through bundles. Metroid Dread is a game that really benefits from the OLED’s enhanced screen, and Very has Nintendo Switch OLED with Metroid Dread for £349.99, a saving of £10.
Currys also has savings on OLED bundles: you can get the Switch OLED with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a SanDisk Switch 256GB memory card for £386.98 £369 or get the Switch OLED with Minecraft and a 256GB memory card for £369.98 £349.
Over in the US, we’re excited just to see that there’s stock. You can currently order the Switch OLED online in white for $349.99 at Nintendo or at Amazon or GameStop. Stock is lower on the neon blue/red version, but you can order it at GameStop for pickup in store. As for bundles, GameStop has the OLED with screen protector and case and Metroid Dread for $429.97.
If you were lucky enough to receive a shiny new Nintendo Switch from Santa yesterday, then you’re probably looking to kit yourself out with a range of fantastic games to play on it. Fortunately, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to games for the Switch. You’ve got brand new Nintendo titles for the console, such as Metroid Dread released in October, you’ve got Nintendo classics, from Mario to Zelda and also classics from other consoles.
But there’s also a huge range of indie games to explore, with some real gems to discover. You might normally hesitate about risking buying an indie game if you’ve not heard of it, but until 31st December, the Nintendo online store has a massive sale with up to 75% off on indie games for the Switch in the US, providing a great chance to discover a whole universe of original games for very little money.
Highlights include savings on the RPG adventure Hades, reduced from $24.99 to $16.24, the spooky ghost story OXENFREE, reduced from $9.99 to just $1.99, and some retro 90s arcade action with Streets of Rage 4 for $24.99 $14.99.
In the UK, you can also save on Switch games direct from Nintendo. It has Monopoly reduced from £29.99 to £7.49 and Just Dance 2022 reduced from £49.99 to £34.99.
In the US, the Nintendo Switch has been so hard to come by in recent months that many people will be happy just to find the console at the standard retail price, not inflated by resellers. Happily Amazon currently has stock on both the original Nintendo Switch at $299 and the Nintendo Switch OLED at $349.99. You can also find the Animal Crossing edition of the original Switch, also for $299.
Seeing a console on sale at the standard retail price would normally hardly be something to shout about, but stock has been so low in the US that finding the Switch without a markup of any kind almost feels like getting a deal, particularly for that elusive OLED model (pictured above), which we’ve hardly seen anywhere online in the US since it was first released at the start of October.
And if you’re looking for an SD card to store games on, you can even make a slight saving. Amazon has the Nintendo Switch with a 128GB SanDisk SDXC card for $320.98, a saving of $14. The Switch-edition SDXC card with its cute mushroom design normally retails for £34.99. The chances are that these will sell out fairly quickly, so if you want to start 2022 with Nintendo’s super-fun portable console, we’d suggest snapping up one of these.
Kicking things off today is this excellent bundle deal from Very, which teams a Nintendo Switch console up with three super-popular games – Animal Crossing New Horizon, Minecraft and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – all for £359.99. To buy these items separately would cost you at least £20 more, so this is a genuine saving on some of the Switch’s world’s most sought-after products. This deal is trending, and selling fast right now, so don’t delay!

Before Christmas we saw serious issues with Nintendo Switch console stock, especially in the US. And while some have recovered now, others have the device available but with big mark ups, so make sure you’re not paying over the odds. For reference, the standard retail price for the Nintendo Switch is $299 / £259, and for the Nintendo Switch Lite $220 / £199-£239, so any prices lower than that means that you are saving money, and a higher than that, you know the price has been inflated.
In the UK, it’s a different story, with good stock levels and even some impressive savings, so stay tuned!
