Renishaw extends reach with new technology center in India – Metrology and quality news

To support its rapidly growing customer base in India, global engineering technologies company, Renishaw, recently opened a new technology center in Bangalore, India. The new facility officially opened on 7 December 2022 and the new location now offers customers access to demonstrations of Renishaw’s metrology and materials analysis solutions.

After noticing growing demand in the Indian markets, Renishaw made the decision to move to a new 12,000 square foot facility to house the engineering, operations, sales and marketing teams, warehouse and technology center. Located on the ground floor of the new facility, the center allows companies to work with Renishaw engineers to understand how their processes can become more efficient and productive through the use of Renishaw technologies. Visitors to the center can watch demonstrations of Renishaw’s extensive product portfolio, including its advanced metrology for process control applications such as: B. the flexible measuring and scanning system EquatorTM for CNC machine tools.

Opening day attendees included William Lee, CEO of Renishaw, Andy Buttrey, President of Renishaw APAC and Paul Gallagher, Vice President and General Manager of Renishaw APAC. Other guests included Mr. P. Ramadas, President of Ace Manufacturing Systems and Past President of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturer’s Association, as well as over 30 CEOs, General Managers and Vice Presidents from renowned manufacturing companies operating in India,

“India rose to second place in the Global Manufacturing Index last year, showing how the market is growing in the region,” said Paul Weaver, Director of Sales & Marketing – Renishaw Metrology Systems Ltd. “We opened our first training and demonstration center in Pune in 2008 and felt now was the right time to increase our investment in India. The new facility is critical to our ability to keep up with the country’s industrial growth and continue to expand our customer base.”

“On the day of the inauguration, we showcased our advanced systems to other manufacturers, partners and potential customers, and highlighted our long-term commitment to India, where we have been operating since the 1980s,” commented Paul Gallagher. “We have shown how Renishaw’s dedicated team can support employees and provide the technical training they need to get the most out of their manufacturing and metrology processes.”

On December 7, guests at the dedication cut the ribbon to officially open the facility and unveiled a plaque. After cutting the ribbon, the team lit a traditional Indian Samai lamp, followed by a speech by Mr. Ramadas on the future of manufacturing in India and a tour of the new facility by Renishaw staff.
