The Game Awards 2022 are finally here. As well as crowning the most incredible games of the year, it also offers a glimpse of upcoming games. As has been the trend for the last half decade and especially since 2020, every game event seems to have turned into another chance for companies and studios to share their upcoming projects with the world. The Games Awards were no different, with phase after phase of exciting announcements for 2023 and beyond.
Nintendo didn’t miss the opportunity to get in on the action either, as many game studios revealed what they’ve been working on for the mighty handheld console. With some first-party info, third-party game announcements, and a whole host of indie creations making their way to the console; The question asked is: What will the next big year bring for the Switch?
Not all games listed are exclusive to Switch; However, they will appear on console during their upcoming release schedule.

Extremely OK Games Ltd., the company that brought people Celeste (an impressive platformer), returns with earthblade, A new pixelated platform action explorer that follows a horned protagonist as she explores the vast vistas of interconnected caves and platforms to find mystical mirrors dotted throughout the lush and dangerous land.
Release is planned for 2024. Players follow Névoa, a child of destiny who returns to Earth after her long journey to battle enemies and unravel the mystery behind the strange lands.

Hellboy: Web of the Wyrd
does not have a release date later than December 2022.
The rough-handed villain returns in a dark, cartoon-style action-adventure game. Not much is known about the game yet; However, it is described as having third-party rogue-like attributes.
Developed by Upstream Arcade, with narrative crafted by Dark Horse Comics and creator Mike Mignola, it’s sure to deliver one hell of an experience. Players will follow Hellboy as he explores the grounds and inner workings of the Butterfly House, a nexus for the crazy, wonderful, and unfortunate eager to escape the non-Euclidean style of their prisons.

Supergiant Games released Hades on the Nintendo Switch in 2018 to commercial and critical acclaim. The Greek roguelike boasted a motley cast of charming characters and a pantheon of parental issues that Zagreus had to wade through in his many journeys to the surface. These ended in a father-son spat and splat (depending on who was victorious).
In the sequel, players will explore beyond the underworld through the immortal Princess Melinoë, who is on a quest to defeat the Titans with the Olympians in her corner. With bigger goals than her brother Zagreus, Melinoë uses magic on her journey to defeat the forces that threaten to stop her and the player from completing their perilous journey.
