New Delhi: A public beta version of the new Coolwalk user interface with some latest features has been released on the Google PlayStore by the tech giant Google. The Coolwalk theme was supposed to be released this summer but has now been delayed. Android Auto is an application that allows drivers to access music, media and navigation apps on car infotainment system screens by connecting their Android smartphones.

According to Android Central, Google announced earlier this year that it is preparing a major redesign for Android Auto, the IANS news agency reported. Unveiled at Google I/O 2022 (an annual developer conference), Coolwalk brought Android Auto a dynamic split-screen user interface that the report said would more effectively adapt to different screen sizes. The aim was to make the most important apps and functions more easily accessible with a single tap, so that drivers can better concentrate on the road.

The new look of Coolwalk – Here’s how to try it

  • As part of the features, it includes a split-screen user interface in which the map is placed closer to the driver in the new dashboard for better accessibility.
  • Users can also resize the map so that it can fill the entire display if they wish, for a better view of their route, the report added.
  • The company has also redesigned the media card so that it can dynamically grow and shrink, for example when a new message arrives.
  • Plus, users can quickly access Google Assistant media suggestions with just a swipe.
