There are times when you need to quickly summon the flashlight on yours iPhone. Maybe you’re trying to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, or you need to find the keys in your pocket to unlock your front door. Whatever the reason, the faster you can turn on your flashlight the better – and that’s where this hidden feature comes in handy.

Back with iOS 14, Apple introduced Back Tap for iPhone, an accessibility feature that lets you quickly perform specific actions — take a screenshot or launch your camera — by tapping the back of your phone. Essentially, it turns the entire back of your iPhone into a button — and you can quickly turn yours on flashlight with it.
All you have to do is enable the feature, which you can find in your accessibility settings. Read on to learn how to set up your flashlight with Back Tap for iPhone now.

How to set up your flashlight with Back Tap on iOS
On your compatible iPhone (iPhone 8 or later), launch the Settings application and go to Accessibility > Touch > Tap Back. Now you have the opportunity to start your action (in this case your flashlight) with both two or three roosters. While two taps is obviously faster, I’d suggest three taps because if you’re fidgeting with your phone, it’s easy to accidentally trigger the accessibility feature.
Once you’ve chosen a tap option, select it flashlight Possibility. You’ll know you’ve successfully selected the option when a blue check mark appears to the right of the action. After exiting the Settings app, you can try the newly-enabled Back Tap feature by tapping the back of your iPhone two or three times to turn on your flashlight. You can also tap the back of your iPhone to turn off the flashlight, but you can also just turn it off from your lock screen if that’s easier.
Besides the flashlight, you can set up Back Tap to trigger a range of other actions, such as more.
