If you use video games to relax or relieve stress, a new collaboration between Microsoft Xbox and Calm, a leading sleep and meditation app, seeks to expand on those benefits.

Starting today, Calm Premium users have access to video game soundscapes from two popular titles.

As Microsoft put it in a blog post, users “can dive in and enjoy the meditative sounds of swirling waves and chirping birds from the vast ocean of ‘Sea of Thieves’ and the atmospheric alien sounds of Zeta Halo from ‘Halo Infinite.'”

If you’re unfamiliar with any of the games or don’t know how these soundscapes could be relaxing, you can find examples on YouTube here and here.

Microsoft is making the Soundscapes available as an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk, giving players three months of Calm Premium for free and then a 50% discount on their first year’s subscription when they sign up. Calm also offers a 7-day free trial for Calm Premium subscription content.

A Calm Premium subscription typically costs $69.99 per year or $399.99 for a lifetime subscription.

Microsoft said the partnership with Calm is “part of Xbox’s ongoing commitment to support gamers’ mental health and connect them with resources to support their well-being.”
