10 Nintendo games with the worst DLC

Nintendo has a strange history when it comes to DLC. Their first tentative steps can be traced back to the Super Famicom with content like the Stallaview BS Zelda remake. However, compared to Sony and Microsoft, it took Big N significantly longer to fully incorporate the information superhighway into their platforms.

10/10 The inclusion of Snorlax in Pokémon Snap is nostalgic, but not much else

Snorlax was one of the many first generation entries added in the DLC for the Nintendo Switch iteration of Pokemon Snap. They are definitely an iconic part of this era with their distinct chubby feline design and narcoleptic nature. Still, they’re hardly a challenge for a game geared towards taking the best snaps.

Their lack of movement pretty much ensures that players won’t have any trouble or fun channeling their inner nature photographer. Thankfully, this DLC was free, making it a significantly less egregious example.

9/10 The Wii U Port Mass Effect 3 was missing some DLCs

The finale of Bioware’s sci-fi RPG trilogy drew much fan criticism for its mind-blowing payout and supplemental material. Unfortunately, it’s also the only entry to make it onto a Nintendo console. Even more unfortunate was the absence of many of the game’s DLCs in the Wii U port, such as: omega and that are well received citadel.

Thankfully, unlike its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 counterparts, players didn’t have to pay extra for the content it contained From the ashes. This essentially gives Wii U players characters and dialogue that should only be part of the base game for all platforms.

8/10 The Mario Kart 8 DLC had some winners and losers

Mario Kart 8 had its ups and downs in terms of DLC. While certain tracks from the Booster Course passes can provide hours of fun, some entries, such as B. Wave 2, more duds than winners. There’s also the weird Mercedes-Benz cars from the original Wii U release.

Sure, the novelty of seeing the fat plumber and his comic book buddies drive in these real cars proves amusing at first. However, they serve as a reminder that even in the mushroom kingdom, there is no escaping the insidious hand of product placement.

After years of holding titles, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild brought back the freedom and mystery that the series had been missing for far too long. With such a massive open world and an excellent foundation, the potential for additional content was seemingly endless.

Even so, the Season Pass sparked a polarizing reaction from fans. Some new content, like the motorcycle, was appreciated, while others criticized the company’s decision to charge money for the game’s hard mode. Players also criticized the inability to purchase the content individually.

The first couple Chibi Robo! GameCube and Nintendo DS titles may not get the same attention as Mario or zelda Nevertheless she managed to garner a cult following for its quirky premise and lovable robot butler. Unfortunately, his second DS outing would not make it to the west coast.

Fans had to wait until 2013 for the little guy to be woken from sleep mode for the 3DS with the downloadable title Photo Finder. Unfortunately, the return proved more than a little disappointing due to its camera-focused mini-game structure and clunky camera functionality.

Fans complained about the oversaturation of “anime guys with swords” in the roster, like Blythe and the elusive Piranah Plant. However, most of the ire was reserved for a character who made her debut in WEAPONS – Min Min Players generally find her learning curve quite steep and consider her a memorable character in her own right.

4/10 The Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia Season Pass costs more than the game

During Fire Emblem Shadow of Valentia was generally well received, its DLC has been quite controversial among players. Its price point has certainly drawn a lot of attention because it’s more than the actual game. Compared to the content in awakening and fatesthe content included in the Season Pass, such as the additional dungeons and story content, was considered underwhelming.

Some fans complained that the exclusive classes in the Lost Altars Pack made the game unbalanced and completely broken. Ultimately, players viewed it as little more than a cash heist.

3/10 WarioWare: Snapped was anything but a pretty picture

the WarioWare Games are generally known for being fun and whimsical titles that are packed to the brim with mini-games that get the most out of their respective hardware. However, the downloadable 3DS title caught happens when such hardware does not work properly.

Sure, the game retains the humor and anarchic charm the series is known for, but it’s a moot point if players can’t properly control the photographic mini-games. Depending on a player’s perspective, its brevity is either an overpriced piece of junk or an act of mercy on Nintendo’s part.

2/10 Artificial scarcity takes the shine off amiibos

Widely speculated to be Nintendo’s answer to the then burgeoning toys-to-life craze in the late 2010s, amiibos are small figurines that allow players to unlock exclusive content associated with specific titles. While they are enjoyed for their inclusion in titles like smash brosthey have garnered a somewhat mixed reception from the gaming community.

Stephanie Sterling praised them for conjuring up nostalgic memories of toys like Barcode Battlers, but accused Nintendo of making them artificially scarce to lure FOMO from consumers. Others find them overpriced considering they’re little more than plastic toys that DLC unlocks on the disc.

Of all the blue blur 3D excursions, lost world could very well be his most polarizing. While the Wii U version had some admittedly decent free DLC in the form of zelda and Yoshi Levels, the pre-order bonus was nothing short of a head scratcher.
