Microsoft signs 10-year deal with Nintendo for Call of Duty games

Microsoft has struck a 10-year agreement with Japanese gaming giant Nintendo to bring Call Of Duty (CoD) games to Nintendo consoles if it completes its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

This was announced by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Microsoft has made a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to @Nintendo following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King.

“Microsoft is committed to making more games accessible to more people, no matter how they play,” he added.

Spencer also mentioned that “Microsoft is committed to continuing to offer Call of Duty on @Steam concurrently with Xbox.”

Earlier this week, Microsoft President Brad Smith confirmed that Microsoft had offered Sony a 10-year deal to make future CoD games available on PlayStation.

Smith noted that “Sony has emerged as the loudest objector” to Microsoft’s proposed $68.7 billion acquisition and is “as excited about this deal as Blockbuster is about the rise of Netflix.”
