Samsung: Samsung Neo QLED QN95B review: Picture perfect

Samsung has stated a variable refresh rate of 144Hz and a native refresh rate of 100Hz. The resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels. The TV is powered by Samsung’s own Neural Quantum Processor 4K.

Samsung has always opted for its own Tizen operating system for its TV, which comes with a different interface for those who are used to the Android interface. The user interface looks a bit cluttered.

There’s Samsung TV Plus – a streaming service – that offers around 60 TV channels. It’s clear that Samsung is pushing the TV Plus service as it gets blasted every time you turn on the TV. Keep in mind that it gets a bit annoying as the last channel you watched is automatically turned on – and at a pretty high volume at that.

Coming to performance, this is where Samsung makes its money. The TV is equipped with a quantum dot mini LED screen that offers a bright and vivid viewing experience. We watched a variety of content on the TV in all resolutions and have to say the TV delivered every time.

Sharpness is on point, brightness levels are accurate and color reproduction is excellent. You can see the quality of the display every minute you watch this TV. The HDR performance of the TV is really outstanding.

According to Samsung, the Neo QLED features an advanced multi-intelligent processor that aims to improve the 4K viewing experience.

Instead of using a neural network to analyze visual data, the Neo Quantum Processor 4K uses data generated by 20 neural networks to achieve excellent image quality, especially for 4K content.

Eye Comfort mode helps automatically adjust the screen’s brightness and tint based on a built-in light sensor and sunset/sunrise information.

If you watch TV at night with EyeComfort mode activated, the amount of blue light is reduced and the pictures appear warmer.

The TV is equipped with a 4.2.2 channel sound system that offers a power of 70W. That sounds like a lot, but in reality we never thought that the TV would sound really loud.

Don’t get us wrong, the sound quality is really good, but sometimes the sound gets a bit muffled. Perhaps expectations were a little high given the 70W output. Dolby Atmos content sounds quite good on TV.
